A Cowboy Story

Here's a Frank Bellamy oddity from Bert Fegg's Nasty Book for Boys and Girls circa 1974.

I wish someone like Titan Books would release a collection of his Heros the Spartan work.

Here's a link to the Frank Bellamy Checklist site.

  1. Love Bellamy, but that second page is so text-heavy, it's barely comics anymore.

  2. Hey Mark.
Yeah, the text is kinda stuffed in there isn't it? It doesn't help that the page size is smaller than usual: it's somewhere between A4 and A5. So, not a lot of room for anything...

  3. I wholeheartedly support your request for a reprint of Heros.

Regarding the above strip, Bellamy, in the last few years of his life returned to drawing his favourite subject of the Wild West, in Garth for the Daily Mirror, and his last strip before his untimely death (when is any death not!) "Swade" for Denis Gifford's Ally Sloper comic

Oh, the above was published in 1974 and being the perfectionist don't forget this was reprinted in a rearranged reprint called "Dr Fegg's Encylopedia of All World knowledge" 1984

Check out these facts and more on frankbellamy.co.uk (end shameless plug)

    Thanks for this Crow

  6. Thanks Norman. It's a great looking book isn't it? A lot of love went into it's creation. I have their Wulf the Briton book. Pricey, but worth it.
