Arrest Cap'n Kidd

Art by Ted Rawlings. Rover October 10th 1964.

  1. Great post. It's nice to finally be able to put a name to the art! I have lots of 'Victor' annuals from the early 70's(owned from when they were new), which have stories clearly drawn by this artist, who seemed to specialise in 18th century material. Brilliant.

  2. TD's art was a bit 'old fashioned' but it had a charm I think? When I was younger I was more impressed by the flashy IPC artists. As I've 'matured' (like an old cheese) I've grown to appreciate a lot of the DCT artists work. It's not flashy, but it has 'something'.
I think of DCT as being very working class/blue collar, whereas IPC were aimed for the middle class. Very much that North/South divide thing.
