Brian Bolland

'Gaze into the fist of Dredd!' I can still remember reading that line in 2000AD.

Always loved Brian Bolland's work. It's so crisp and clean with a lot of tongue-in-cheek to boot. Check out BB's website, there's a gallery of his work from over the years on view. There are also, interviews and for all you budding artists out there, tutorials explaining how he puts together his digital work.

The Mareth Line

Art by Jeff Bevan.Warlord dated March 22nd 1980. An interesting mix of wash and line art for this one.

The script is a bit cringe-worthy though: the Maoris speak like cliché red Indians.  "Much I can forgive the white man-but not this!"
I know, I know: it's just a comic. Anyway, moving along....

Fighters of the Fleet
