Nightmare Planet

I don't mean to sound flippant, but I think Brian Lewis would have become a big star if he hadn't kicked the bucket when he did. 2000AD would have been a great showcase for his work. This is from 2000AD 22nd April 1978.

  3. Rob Moran? Did you do a Johnny Red strip for a Battle annual/Summer Special(?) back in the day? I also remember an ABC Warriors pin-up in a 2000AD annual? And another complete strip for 2000AD (an annual?). What was it? Dan Dare?

  4. As for Brian Lewis: I think some of his best work was the Hammer adaptations.

Just noticed a House of Hammer piece on Dez Skinn's site:

Quality Comics released a compilation of some of them. It's probably going for next to nothing now:

BL did an adaptation of Moon Zero Two: a very campy sci-fi film (by Hammer) which is a personal favourite of mine.

  5. I loved Brian's artwork on this strip and was also a huge fan even as a little kid due to his work in House of Hammer mag.

  6. I didn't really know much about him until the 80s when Quality Comics published a compilation of his Hammer work. I loved his linework.
