Joe Colquhoun's inks and washes accompany a text piece about Arthur Fitzgibbon who, at the age of 15, became the youngest person to win the Victoria Cross. From Battle 17th may 1875.
It's a nice illo isn't it? To me JC always delivered the goods. Even right up to the end of his life he was producing work to a high standard. He didn't seem to cut corners like some artists do in their later years... But I'm just biased: he's one of my all time favourites.
